Why we ask you to port your customer facing number to Vodafone to work seamlessly with Exotel

May 6, 2013
To safeguard your business against the TRAI 13th amendment, we suggest that you do not use your Exophone number directly on any of your business’ collateral and own your customer facing business number.
To use Exotel, you need to forward your customer facing number to an Exophone.MNP your customer facing number Issues with call forwarding across operators
We have a partnership with Reliance and most of our infrastructure runs on them. Our Exophones are powered by Reliance. We have a partnership with Vodafone for customer facing numbers. When a call is forwarded from Vodafone to Reliance, it happens smoothly without any problems. When you forward calls from a number that is not a Vodafone number, a couple of glitches can happen:
  1. The forwarding may not work
  2. If the forwarding works, your callers might hear a message that says “Your call is being forwarded to another number.” And this message plays out in 3 languages before the call can get forwarded.
  3. You will spend a lot of money on call forwarding charges that will make the entire exercise very expensive for you.

Therefore, it is easier for you to port your customer facing number to Vodafone before setting up Exotel.
